“Mamas with Commas” for CTS Women – Online Version

  • Via Zoom (link to be emailed) (map)

What: Are you a female student juggling motherhood as one of your multiple roles? Or have you considered taking classes and weighing the pros and cons? We invite you to join us for a new gathering called “Mamas with Commas.”

Why: Our hope is two-fold:

  1. To celebrate and encourage each other and

  2. To help each other troubleshoot and think through sustainable, resilient ways of loving  both learning and our families in this season.

Who: Any female member of the CTS community is welcome to attend. You’ll find much that’s applicable to you even if the “mamas” part isn’t one of your many roles. Being a student may make the conversations more relevant to you, but even if you’re just considering studies, looking ahead to possibly juggling parenthood and ministry roles, or have taken a break from classes and might return, you’re very welcome to join us!

TWO EVENTS SO ALL CAN PARTICIPATE:

1) ON CAMPUS – Friday, Dec. 16, 3 – 4:30 p.m. / Edwards Living Room.

Join us for a time of celebration as we share joys, challenges, and milestones of the past semester. We’ll have hot drinks, treats, and plenty of celebration for a job well done! We hope this will give you a chance to reflect and celebrate before launching into the Christmas Break, January classes, or whatever your post-semester to-do list looks like!

Speaker: Dr. Katie Kinney, Coordinator of The Scribe Writing Center, who completed her PhD as a mother of very young children, will offer some words of encouragement and experience.

Childcare: Free childcare offered during this time at the Log Cabin (RSVP needed).

RSVP to Annalisa Smith at annalisa.smith@covenantseminary.edu. RSVPs are welcome, though not required unless you need childcare.

2) ONLINE Saturday, Dec. 17, 9 – 10:30 a.m. / Via Zoom (link to be sent).

Join us for a time of celebration as we share joys, challenges, and milestones of the past semester. How we wish we could provide a hot drink and childcare for you, but we hope the time will at least give you a small space to celebrate before post-semester craziness begins!

Speaker: Dr. Katie Kinney, Coordinator of The Scribe Writing Center, who completed her PhD as a mother of very young children, will offer some words of encouragement and experience.

RSVP to Annalisa Smith at annalisa.smith@covenantseminary.edu and we'll send you the Zoom link for access.
