Ministry Lunch – Serge: On Faithfulness to Calling

  • Buswell 111 12330 Conway Road Creve Coeur, MO, 63141 United States (map)

Speakers: Scott and Becca Brand, CTS grads and Serge Ireland Facilitative Church Planters; and Lindsey Knapp, Serge Apprenticeship Recruiter & MAC student

Topic: Serge: On Faithfulness to Calling

What: After years of hard work, studying, and financial debt, you are finally out doing the “real work” of your calling. And yet, instead of preaching life-changing exegetical sermons or speaking deep wisdom into the lives of clients, you find yourself primarily…setting up chairs. How do we reconcile the years of training and expertise with the reality that ministry often looks like driving people to doctor's appointments and cleaning up after others? What happens when we don’t feel like we are “using” our degrees?

Scott and Becca Brand have been living that reality. After a few years of living in Ireland and wrestling with the question of what faithfulness looks like, they have more questions than answers. But the questions they have learned to ask have begun leading them to a deeper sense of rootedness in Christ amidst the tensions around calling and faithfulness. They hope their questions can help you too.

Lunch: Chick-Fil-A provided!
