Ministry Lunch – Serge and a Gospel-Centered Framework for Discussing Race and Ethnicity

  • Buswell 111 12330 Conway Road Creve Coeur, MO, 63141 United States (map)

Speakers: Chris Hatch, Serge UK Regional Supervisor & Area Specialist for Contextualisation and Culture; and Lindsey Knapp, Serge Apprenticeship Recruiter & MAC student

Jesus prayed that his disciples would be united (John 17) but we live in the "now and not yet." We do actually have unity in Christ, yet Christians often struggle to even have conversations across racial or ethnic lines.

Chris Hatch (CTS grad, TEDS PhD candidate, and Serge missionary) will present a framework for discussing race and ethnicity among Christians. Drawing from his experience in urban America, his years of church planting in London, and his PhD research, Chris will share how our conversations can reflect both the diversity and the unity we have in Christ.

Lunch provided.

Serge is a Reformed, grace-based missions sending agency with teams in 25+ countries. We believe that spiritual renewal—the ongoing, daily experience of the Father’s love for us—motivates and sustains us to lay down our lives in mission. Our work consists of sending and caring for missionaries, mentoring and discipling ministry leaders around the world, and developing gospel-centered resources — such as Sonship and The Gospel-Centered Life — for ongoing gospel renewal.
