Speaker: Dr. Thurman Williams, Director of Homiletics at CTS and Pastor of New City Fellowship–West End, St. Louis
Theme: Worshipful Preaching: Preaching Before the Lord as Lead-Worshipper
Preaching is both an act of worship by the preacher and an invitation to the congregation to enter into worship for the purpose of transformation. What can preachers learn from worship leaders about leading the people not only to learn about God but also to meet with God in worship? What can preachers learn from educators about how people learn in ways that transform their lives outside of the worship service? What can preachers of every race, background and denomination learn from the African-American preaching tradition that can more powerfully and deeply impact the lives of all our people? Join us as we explore these questions and more.
