Covenant Seminary is gearing up for a new semester of classes, and that means a new series of weekly Chapel services is also set to begin. Drawing inspiration from a phrase in the Seminary’s mission statement, the overarching theme for the fall 2024 Chapel series is “To Glorify the Triune God.”
Seminary to Host ATS Accreditation Reaffirmation Visit in October 2024
Covenant Theological Seminary is hosting a comprehensive evaluation visit for reaffirmation of accreditation by the ATS Commission on Accrediting on October 28–31, 2024. The purpose of the visit is to verify that the school meets all applicable Commission Standards of Accreditation.
2024 FSI Conference Explores Evangelism in a Disenchanted World
Join us for the 2024 Francis Schaeffer Institute Conference, hosted by Covenant Seminary in partnership with The Gospel Coalition, as guest Speakers Jake Meador (editor in chief of Mere Orthodoxy) and Dr. Gavin Ortlund (pastor, author, speaker, and apologist for the Christian faith) explore the theme Christ and All His Hallows: Evangelism in a Disenchanted World.
Rev. John Chung Named Vice President of Enrollment
Covenant Theological Seminary is pleased to announce that Rev. John Chung (MDiv ’09) was recently named Vice President of Enrollment for the institution. Rev. Chung, who has been serving as Senior Director of Enrollment Management for Covenant since April 2022, will assume his new role July 1, 2024.
CTS at PCA GA 2024 — Renewing Friendships, Preparing for the Future
Eighteen members of Covenant Seminary’s faculty and staff attended the 51st General Assembly of the PCA June 10–14 in Richmond, VA. In addition to the important business conducted, this annual denominational meeting is a rich time of fellowship and reconnection with CTS alumni that blesses us all.
New Strategic Plan Guides Seminary’s Efforts to Train Next Generation of Church Leaders
Covenant Seminary is pleased to announce the implementation of a new strategic plan that will guide the institution’s ongoing efforts to train leaders for Christ’s church and kingdom. Titled “Centered on Christ’s Mission to Train the Next Generation,” the plan was adopted by the Seminary’s Board of Trustees in January 2024 and presented by President Rev. Dr. Thomas C. Gibbs at the PCA’s 51st General Assembly in Richmond, Virginia.

The Theological Fellowship at Covenant Seminary will host its 13th annual spring lectures on Wednesday, April 3, and Thursday, April 4. The featured speaker is award-winning church historian and author Dr. Paul Lim, Associate Professor of the History of Christianity at Vanderbilt Divinity School, and author of Mystery Unveiled: The Crisis of the Trinity in Early Modern England.

Seminary Statement on Elizabeth Mackintosh
Thirty-three years ago, Covenant Theological Seminary student Elizabeth Mackintosh was murdered on campus. The crime has not yet been solved. The Seminary continues to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in the ongoing case. We continue to grieve Elizabeth’s death and pray for justice and resolution for all affected by this terrible crime.

Covenant Seminary rejoices with Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Alabama, at the church’s announcement that Dr. Dan Doriani, Professor of Biblical and Systematic Theology at Covenant, has been selected to serve as Interim Senior Pastor for the congregation beginning in December 2023.

Response to Letter to Churches
Covenant Seminary recently received a copy of a letter dated Tuesday, May 30th, which was also posted to social media June 1st, that addresses the tragic murder of Elizabeth Mackintosh on the Seminary campus in March 1990. We believe the letter misinterprets the facts and misrepresents the Seminary’s response.
