Completed: $40 Million Hope for the Future Capital Campaign
Covenant Theological Seminary is excited to announce the successful completion of its Hope for the Future (HFTF) capital campaign. Under the leadership of president Dr. Mark Dalbey, the HFTF capital campaign surpassed its original goal of $40 million earlier this summer, with gifts, pledges, and new estate commitments totaling over $42 million. The campaign, which focused on growing the seminary’s endowment, is the largest in its 64-year history.
The Hope for the Future capital campaign was a 5-year effort focused on providing strategic endowment support to faculty, students, and Seminary operations as well as strategic technology upgrades. The campaign involved donors from across the country and around the world. As a result of the campaign, Covenant Seminary has established and completed faculty chairs, created new endowed student scholarship awards, upgraded campus technology to enhance on- and off-campus learning, and developed new leadership training programs like the Church Planting Track—all to strengthen the Seminary’s foundation for the purpose of impacting the world for Christ.
Dr. Miles Gresham, chair of the Seminary’s Board of Trustees, commented: “I am deeply encouraged by the generosity and strong partnership of so many donors, churches, and organizations on display through this historic campaign. This amazing level of financial partnership provides strategic support to this vital institution that trains gospel leaders for the next generation and beyond. For over 64 years, Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, has trained pastors, counselors, missionaries, and other gospel leaders for the church to serve across the country and around the world. The HFTF campaign provides strategic resources to equip greater numbers of servant leaders who are seeking to prepare for ministry, making their seminary training more affordable and flexible across our primary campus, multiple sites, and expanded online capacities.
